Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Android game Galactic Miner (package
com.crookedpixelgames.galacticminer) and this website. The short version: playing
the game involves two kinds of data collection, both handled by Google on our behalf. Google
collects advertising data from your device to serve the game's optional rewarded ads, and if
the game crashes it sends us a crash report. The sections below list exactly what each one
covers. We (Crooked Pixel) have no accounts and no servers of our own, we never receive your
name or contact details, and Google shows us only aggregated statistics about ads, never data
about you as an individual.
Data collected to serve ads (Google AdMob)
The game shows optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. They only play when you choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game bonus. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect information from your device, including:
- Device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID
- IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- Device and app information (model, OS version, app version)
- Ad interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped)
- Diagnostics such as app performance data (for example launch time, crash and hang rates, and energy usage)
This collection is governed by Google's policies, not ours: see the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the game shows a consent dialog (Google's User Messaging Platform) before any ads are served, and you can decline personalized advertising there. On any Android device you can also limit or reset ad tracking in system settings under Privacy → Ads (for example, by deleting your advertising ID).
We do not sell your personal information. What Google shares with us is aggregated statistics (totals of ad views and earnings), never data about you as an individual.
Crash reports (Google Firebase Crashlytics)
So that we can find and fix the bugs that break the game, Galactic Miner sends a crash report when it stops unexpectedly. Reports are handled by Google Firebase Crashlytics and contain:
- The technical details of the crash itself (the stack trace, that is the list of code that was running at the moment of failure)
- Device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language, orientation, free memory and storage, whether the device is rooted)
- A randomly generated installation identifier, which lets us tell one crashing install apart from another. It is not your advertising ID and it is not linked to your name, account, or contact details. It resets if you reinstall the game or clear its data.
- A short trail of in-game events leading up to the crash, such as which screen you were on and how far into the game you are. We do not put any personal information into these.
A crash report is only sent when the game actually crashes. We use these reports solely to diagnose and fix problems in the game. They are not used for advertising, they are not sold, and they are not combined with the ad data described above. Google deletes crash reports after 90 days. What we do not collect
Galactic Miner has no account, registration, or sign-in, and never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or location. Your game progress is saved only on your device and is never transmitted to us. We run no analytics, we do not track how you play, and we operate no servers of our own that receive data about you. The ad serving and crash reporting described above are the only data collection connected to the game.
Notifications
If you enable them, the game schedules local reminder notifications on your device. These are created and delivered entirely on-device; no notification data is sent to us or anyone else.
Children
Galactic Miner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
We operate no servers that store user data, so there is nothing on our side to secure or breach. Your local save data is removed when you uninstall the game or clear its app data. Crash reports are deleted by Google after 90 days, and the installation identifier attached to them resets when you reinstall the game or clear its data. Ad-related data held by Google is subject to Google's retention and security practices linked above. Because we hold no data about you ourselves, there is nothing for us to look up or delete on request, but you are welcome to contact us with any question at the address below.
This website
This site is a static page: it sets no cookies, runs no scripts, and includes no analytics or tracking. It is served through Cloudflare, which may process visitor IP addresses as part of normal content delivery and security.
Changes to this policy
If the game gains features that change what data is handled (for example cloud save or in-app purchases), we will update this policy and the effective date above before those features ship.
